While he's a bit bigger than his name would indicate, Tiny is on the road to becoming quite the capable trainer.
Tiny Dahl was born on a snowy winter night on the Dahl Family Ranch, his family unable to reach Neverro Town due to the large snowdrifts blocking the route. Tiny's mother swore that he was the smallest baby she'd ever seen, and she named him Tiny. Of course, the name eventually turned from endearing to ironic as the young Tiny hit a growth spurt early and never stopped skyrocketing. Now he stands taller than most humans and quite a few Pokemon, although he's never thought about picking up a nickname more appropriate to his size.
The Dahls were breeders by trade, and they made money raising and selling Pokemon and eggs to the local professor and aspiring trainers. It was a quiet life, but one that Tiny enjoyed immensely. However, Tiny was never as interested in Pokemon Husbandry as his sister or parents were, so he mostly found himself learning to cook baby food and fix meals for travelers who stayed in their family's house for the night.
The only entertainment in the rural area was the small, rickety television set powered by Sparks, the family Raichu. Each Friday night he'd watch clips of the most high profile battlers in the region: Gym Leaders, Champions, Challengers. All of them used powerful evolved Pokemon, whose raw power was capable of tearing through opponents with ease. Tiny saw this mindset too in the trainers who visited their ranch for business or travel. They hatched an egg and tried to rush the Pokemon to evolve into a more powerful state.
Tiny could never understand this. His one great joy raising his Munchlax Alice, who was the first Pokemon he'd ever hatched. He never wanted her to evolve, and Alice had made it quite clear that she didn't either. For years, Tiny had been content to simply work at his ranch and live with his family. However, one day a trainer that had stayed with them for a week tried to rob their incubator room using a Vivillion he'd hatched and rushed to evolve in only three days. When Alice trounced the evolved bug despite her unevolved form, Tiny decided to try his hand at becoming a League trainer. After all those days sitting in front of the television, he knew exactly where he wanted to end up.
Backstory
Tiny takes a rather wholistic look at raising Pokemon. He believes that bonds between Pokemon and trainer are strongest when the Pokemon is with the trainer since hatching, not captured from the wild. With the proper care and nutrition, any Pokemon - even 'baby' Pokemon - can be powerful. He'd like to see this become a movement, sort of like organic food. However, a movement has to have a leader, and that would mean becoming a powerful battler. This means that Tiny will never capture a wild Pokemon, and he'll only buy a Pokeball when one of his eggs hatches and he needs to make sure that others can't capture it.
And so Tiny has set his goals as high as they can possibly be. In order to redefine the definition of being a powerful trainer, he's decided to aim for the Champion spot. He'll make the Grayson name known all over the region and launching his family's small breeding operation into the largest daycare/breeding center in Estin.
